A seed library lets residents take small packets of seeds without payment. They are invited, but not required, to return seeds from their own harvest. Each packet carries the plant name and a suggested sowing season. Volunteers do not guarantee that every seed will grow, since storage conditions and seed age vary. A workshop teaches participants how to dry seeds before storing them. Last year, the library added a notebook in which growers can share observations. These informal records may help local gardeners, but they are not controlled experiments and cannot establish which growing method is best.
