The Riverside market began with eight stalls selling fruit and vegetables. It now has twenty stalls, including a bakery and a repair service. Every seller must clearly display prices, but there is no rule requiring every product to be locally grown. The market manager says customers value the chance to ask sellers questions. A recent survey collected responses from shoppers who visited on Saturday morning. It did not include people who never attend the market. Therefore, its findings describe the views of those shoppers rather than the preferences of the whole town. The next survey will also ask residents online.
